The Gorzycki Theatre Production class will be performing their One Act scenes this February 6 and 7 at the new performing arts center. Their play is a modern twist on greek mythology called The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza.

Eighth graders Luke E. and Georgia B. explain how they feel about the competition from other schools.

“Fulmore, Murchison, and Small were really good last year, but everyone else I’m not too worried about,” said Georgia.

“Fulmore is doing the same play as us, so we are going to slash their tires,” said Luke.

Theatre Production has been practicing for a few weeks now, and will continue to work on it until their performance.

Zoe T. explains how they are preparing for the upcoming event.

“We come together as a group and read the scripts and block the scenes with our scene members,” said Zoe.

Seventh grader Kat R. is in Theatre Production for the first time this year and describes her favorite part about One Act.

“My favorite part about One Act is that I’m in the play and not watching it so I get to see it come together,” said Kat.

The new performing arts center will be located at Mueller Boulevard between 51st Street and Barbara Jordan Boulevard.
