Office Aides Work Throughout the School

Usually when you walk in the office, one or two students are sitting in there. As well when a student comes in your class to hand the teacher a note? Those are office aides, they help out the school by sending notes and getting attendances from teachers.

Office aide Kristin H. does work similar to the adult office aides.

“We just deliver a lot of notes, we do substitute attendances and other things to help the office,” Kristin H. said.

There are other aides besides office; for example, library or counselor aide.

Office aide Gabe A. decided to be an office aide over a counselor or library aide.

“I chose office aide because you get a lot more free time than other aides, and it is fun to help out,” Gabe A. said.

Many sixth graders and seventh graders don’t know how to become an office aide because it’s not on the choice sheet. Kristin and Gabe explain how to get office aide as your elective.

“Towards the end of the year, there is a sign up sheet you can get from the counselor’s room and they choose from there,” Kristin said.

“To get in, you have to write a sheet explaining why you want to be an office aide, like a small essay,” Gabe said.

If you have any questions of how to get this job, ask the counselors for more advice.
