Seventh grade A-team volleyball went to the championship game on October 21 at Burger Stadium.

Seventh grader Gabi B. has played volleyball for two years and plays middle blocker. The score for the last set of the championship was 25-15 with Ann Richards in the lead.

“Before the championship, I thought we were going to win it,” Gabi said. “I wasn’t nervous at all. After the game, I was really disappointed and felt like we could have won it.”

Seventh grader Bella F. is a manager for the team and is on C-team. Bella has been playing volleyball for two years and was confident going into the game.

“I was disappointed that I didn’t make a higher team but I was glad that Coach Warner asked me to be manager,” Bella said. “I like being manager because I liked seeing the players play to see what I have to do next year to make a better team .Before the championship, I felt really confident that we would win, and towards the end of the game I was keeping my hopes up.”

Seventh grader Tamia G. has played volleyball for two years, however she doesn’t play on an outside of school team.

“[To get ready for the game] I worked on my hits and snapping my wrist on a hit,” Tamia said. “My favorite memory of the season was preparing for the championship game.”

The seventh grade A-team Lady Tigers had an undefeated season until the championship.
