Boy’s Basketball Review

Ella R. and Kylie R.

The boys basketball team started off the season playing Decker Middle School. The eighth grade A and B teams won, and the seventh grade B team lost. Students have good and bad memories from playing basketball.
“ A good memory is when I scored the winning shot in the championship,” eighth grader Jason Gaines said. “A bad memory is when I hurt my ankle and I had to sit out for the rest of the game.”
Eighth grader Blake Mendoza also has many memories from playing basketball.
“A good memory is when I got the game winning shot from half court,” Mendoza said. “A bad memory is when I came down on my foot wrong and was hurt for a while.”
Coach Matt Forumy is also a math teacher and coaches the seventh and eighth grade C teams.
“Coach Fourmy is not like an ordinary coach,” Eighth Grader Joshua Gonzalez said. “ He’s also good at getting stuff done and helping us get better.”
Seventh grader Aden Ponce has different thoughts about Coach Fourmy.
“I like that Coach Fourmy gets very interested and into the game,” Ponce said.
Mendoza has things he loves about basketball and things that are harder for him with basketball.
“I like being a part of a team and bonding with my team,” Mendoza said. “The hardest part of basketball is learning how to play defense.”
Aden Ponce has different opinions about basketball.
“My favorite part of basketball is popping threes,” Ponce said. “The hardest part of basketball is that there is a lot of running.”
Even though students may have different opinions about basketball they all have to come together in the end and play as a team.
