The NBA Playoffs is the end of the season tournament that started on April 16. Games are played across the country in a seven game series. Eight teams from each conference (Western and Eastern) play in this series, and the winner advances to the next round until there is only one team remaining from each conference.

The Golden State Warriors are this year’s title favorite, going 73-9 in the regular season, which has never been done. Sixth grader Katherine C. thinks the Warriors will take it all the way.

“The Warriors will win it all because they have Stephen Curry, who gets buckets,” Katherine said.

The Chicago Bulls led by Michael Jordan went 72-10 in 95’-96’, which was a record until now. However, Coach Kimberly Kehoe thinks that the San Antonio Spurs will win it all.

“I like their playing style, and they have a good coach,” Kehoe said.

Meanwhile in the East, the Cleveland Cavaliers have earned the number one seed in their conference. Last year the Cavaliers suffered a tough season ending loss (4-2) to Golden State in the finals. They are looking for revenge this year by trying to punch their ticket back into the championship.

Records tend to also break in these intense times. On the third game in the Charlotte Hornets V.S. Miami Heat series, the Hornets broke their 12 year long slump in the playoffs, beating the Heat 96-80. Another record that was broken was when the Warriors shot and made a record-breaking amount of three pointers (21 made threes) to get the win against the Houston Rockets.

Although many thought the Pistons had a chance against the Cleveland Cavaliers, they were mistaken. They were swept in a seven game series, going 0-4. Also, The Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Dallas Mavericks in their seven game series, going 4-1.

This event has brought over 18.4 million people together around the world. The 16 top teams will compete for the NBA Finals trophy. If you want to learn more, go to www.nba.com.
