The 7A Gorzycki football team had a rocky beginning to start the season, but finished strong. The first 3 games were not in district but still meant a lot. They lost two hard fought games against Dripping Springs and Hill Country middle school. The last non-district game against Westridge came down to the wire, both teams fought hard. The final score 14-14.

The first game in district was against Bedichek. The team had a breakout game scoring 28 points and only letting Bedichek score 6 points. That sparked a winning streak of 4 games against Paredes, Small, O’Henry, and previously stated Bedichek. The next two games were hard loses against Murchison and bailey. In the Murchison game The final score was 26-20. Gorzycki had many opportunities to score, but couldn’t get the final touchdown and the two point conversion to win the game or at the very least ending it in a tie. In the next game against Bailey, Gorzycki came out fired up and ready to prove something. They got off to a early lead of 6-0, but giving it there all couldn’t hold the lead and ended up loosing 12-6. The Gorzycki 7A football team had a ending record of 4-4-1, which was not satisfying for the team and coaches. The players are putting in hard work in the weight room to prepare for next season. As Coach Mauk always reminds the team of the famous words from Coach John Wooden ” Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t feel to work hard”. That will be in the players mind throughout off season getting ready to win the Division Championship in 8th grade.
