There was a new addition for boys soccer this year. This was Gorzycki’s first year with a C team for soccer. Eighth grade C team soccer player Ethan D. decided to tryout for the first time.
“I decided to tryout because it is my last year at Gorzycki and all of my friends play [soccer],” Ethan said.
Seventh grader Jake A. gives tips on what you should do at tryouts.
“It is very important to work hard during tryouts [and] to show the coaches that you actually want to be there,” Jake said. “You should try your best and work hard throughout the tryouts.”
Eighth grader Dimi O. has played soccer for six years.
“I like the sport and the community, hanging out with all of my teammates is fun,” Dimi said. “I also like how excited my teammates get when I score a goal in practice.”
It is eighth grader Kellen W.’s first year playing soccer.
“I like soccer because it’s really fun and I get to hang out with all my friends,” Kellen said. “I like yelling at people, and scoring a lot of goals.”
The C team is coached by science teacher Ryan MacKenzie.
