Waterloo is a popular family friendly restaurant that serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. With four locations around Austin, Waterloo serves a variety of food options, including burgers, soups, salads and much more. The first location opened on Congress Avenue in 1976 as a casual neighborhood gathering spot. Waterloo still embodies the Hill Country spirit and serving fresh homemade food as it did 40 years ago. Eighth grader Katy Lumbly explains what she likes about Waterloo.

“It’s really close and it’s a really good place to eat,” Lumbly said “The service is really good there.”

With silver row boats hanging on the ceiling and having a calendar for themed days almost every day, Waterloo has some unique things about it.

“I don’t know very many restaurants that also have a playground and a bar,” Eighth grader Zetta Dillings said.

Seventh grader Owen Hood explains how Waterloo is different from other restaurants.

“Most restaurants keep you cooped in, but this one doesn’t. You can go outside and walk around behind it [the restaurant].” Hood said.

Waterloo takes pride in serving fresh and natural food made from scratch everyday. Seventh grader Conner Hees explains why he likes the food.

“The food is really good, it’s very flavorful and they have a variety of food,” Hees said.

Waterloo serves food from breakfast to dinner.

“The food is a little greasy and really good. It’s cooked really fast and they have a lot of stuff,” Dillings said.

Waterloo has fast service and friendly waiters. There is something for everyone in your family if you go to Waterloo. Lumbly describes the atmosphere at Waterloo.

“[Waterloo is] very family friendly,” Lumbly said, “It’s a good place to go if you want dinner or a snack.”

With the family friendly atmosphere, a good variety of food, and all the unique things about Waterloo, Katy Lumbly explains why she would recommend going to Waterloo to others.
