We All Scream for Ice Cream!

From regular vanilla, to the odd bacon flavor, one thing is for sure- almost everyone likes ice cream, and some students at Gorzycki have made it themselves.

Sixth grader Mandy J. has made her own ice cream and enjoys eating a newer homemade flavor called “Superhero,” a combination of cherry, vanilla, and marshmallow ice cream.
“The most important part of making homemade ice cream is to not forget the steps or ingredients, or else it will taste interesting,” Maya said.

Eighth grader Gustavo M. prefers store bought ice cream to homemade.
“It saves time and it’s cheaper,” Gustavo said.

Seventh grader Aurora T. also likes store bought ice cream as opposed to homemade.
“I like store bought ice cream because it is made by professional people and it saves time,” Aurora said.

Although homemade ice cream can be fun to make, there are some disadvantages to making ice cream on you own.
“The disadvantages of homemade ice cream is that it can sometimes come out tasting wrong,” Gustavo said.
“One advantage of making your own ice cream is that it doesn’t cost much and you get to bond with your family while making it,” said both. Overall, Gustavo and Mandy agree that the best part of making homemade ice cream is tasting it afterwards.
