The 2016 Annual Tiger Talent Show is here! Many people have competed for one of the twelve slots in the show.

Eighth grade students Landry C., Angela C., and Jade F. are planning on performing a trio dance. Landry has gotten to perform in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade so far. She gives details about why she auditioned.

“When we did it in sixth grade it was a lot of fun trying out and we actually made it in, and it was just a lot of fun watching the talent show and actually being apart of it,” Landry said.

Eighth grade students Ava N. and Trace Y. performed a duet. Trace played the piano while Ava sang “Melt My Heart to Stone” by Adele.

“I just want to end the year on a good note, and have fun with my friends,” Trace said.

He believes that the more you practice the more confident you will be.

“Since I usually only play the piano for friends and family, I was nervous, but I wanted to conquer my fears” Trace said. “I ended up having a great time, and I definitely gained self confidence.”

There are many qualities needed to be able to audition for the talent show other than performance. Landry and seventh grader Carli V. explain what they have learned from auditioning themselves so far.

“It takes confidence, because you are in front of judges, and it’s nerve racking too” Landry said. “You just have to not think about it, and believe in yourself.”

Many students have various talents and hobbies, and different people have unique reasons for participating in the talent show. Seventh grader Riley M. shares what he wants to gain from the talent show.

“I plan on gaining experience, because every single time you perform you get less and less nervous,” Riley said. “You also get more confident in yourself.”
