Lucy’s Fried Chicken is a restaurant known for their great homegrown foods, including their famous fried chicken. Lucy’s Fried chicken started off as a small local restaurant and has since expanded to 4 different locations around Austin. Student Austin P. tells how Lucy is different from other restaurants.

“I’m allergic to egg so one thing that I like about Lucy’s is that they make the chicken without egg, which is actually really hard to find.” Austin said.

Seventh grader Aden P. explains the atmosphere at Lucy’s.

“The atmosphere is just really fun and you can tell it’s Austin-local just by how it’s super relaxed and the people there are very nice.” Aden said.

According to Eater Austin, Lucy’s has the best fried food in Austin, and the restaurant isn’t just popular for their food, but also for their friendly atmosphere. Students Brynn L. and Grace S. both enjoy the food and the fun of the restaurant.

“The on-the-go location had chickens near the playground which was fun to see. Both locations I’ve been to are really pretty.” Brynn said.

Grace S. tells her experience.

“Lucy’s has the best fried chicken I’ve ever had.” Grace explains, “There can be a long wait, but it’s worth it.”

One of Lucy’s restaurants is located on the Lake Travis, and is known for their beautiful views. This location in particular can get pretty busy, especially at sunset. Student Brynn L. explains if she thinks the wait is worth it.

“There can sometimes be a long wait at the lake location but it’s super fast at the on-the-go location. Both locations have things to do once you get there though.”

Aden  explains how the restaurant could improve.

“I wish they would expand their locations because the ones they have right now are kind of far from my area, and they’re always pretty busy.” Aden said.

At Lucy’s on the lake, there is an area for live music. The location is also on the lake. The most popular hours of the day are when the sun is setting. Student Austin P explains why he enjoys these features.

“The sunset is really fun to watch on the lake and they have live music. It’s just a really good place to go with family or a big group of people” Austin said.
